Magic Spotlight: Secrets

The Magic Spotlight Series is a multi-day Magic: The Gathering celebration that brings major events to cities around the world. Each event shines a spotlight on a specific theme, which influences all the weekend’s activities. You can learn more about Spotlight events through our first-timer’s guide.

A highlight of every Magic Spotlight Series stop is the main tournament: a two-day open event with a $50,000 prize pool. Top 8 finishers also receive invitations to Pro Tour Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes, which will be held at MagicCon: Amsterdam on July 17–19, 2026.

Entry to the hall is free. To participate in the Magic Spotlight Series Main Event or side events, you’ll need to purchase a ticket. Tickets for all events are limited, so be sure to secure yours early!

Event Structure

Standard Format
Closed Decklists
Day One – 9 Rounds of Swiss
Players with 18 Match Points (6+ Wins) advance to Day Two
Day Two – 6 Rounds of Swiss
Single Elimination Top 8 Playoff

Registration

Ticket purchasers will be registered for this tournament in batches. This is a manual process — if you have bought a ticket, but do not show up in the event, please be patient!
Players must have their Wizards Account Email in their Melee.gg profile in order to enroll.

Decklists

Decklists must be submitted through the Player Controller on Melee.gg.
Decklists will be closed for Day One.
Decklists will be open for Day Two.
Failure to submit a decklist on time will result in Tardiness penalties.

Promotional Cards & Items

All participants in the Magic Spotlight Series Main Event will receive a Non-Foil borderless Liliana Vess promo card with art by Justyna Dura.

Top 128 players in the Main Event will also receive traditional foil copies of this promo card.

Top 8 players in the Main Event will receive a Pro Tour Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes Invite.

The winner of the event will receive a Black Lotus-themed trophy featuring the Secrets of Strixhaven set symbol.

In Sealed Deck, you build your deck from the product you receive at the start of the tournament.

Start: Sunday, May 10, 09:00
Format: Secrets of Strixhaven Sealed Deck (6 packs provided); BO3
Structure: Swiss + Top Cut. At the end of swiss, the Top 32 players will advance to 3 rounds of single elimination booster draft in (seeded) pods.

Up to 168 players: 5 rounds
