Frequently Asked Questions
Pokémon Special Championships are similar to Regional Championships in that they host Pokémon TCG, Pokémon video game, and Pokémon GO competitions and offer the same Championship Point payouts. However, they do not have set prizes.
To participate, competitors must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account and be in good standing with the Play! Pokémon program.
You can find more information on the official page.
Pokémon TCG players need to bring their own legal 60-card deck for the Standard format. Pokémon Video Game players must bring their own game system, their own Pokémon Champions game, and a legal Pokémon team. Pokémon GO players must have a legal Pokémon team on their Pokémon GO account.
In order to participate, players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account and be in good standing with the Play! Pokémon program.
In order to take part in the Regional Championship, you first need to register for the event. Most Regional Championships require online registration, and events may sell out. You can find more information on the official page.
The Play! Pokémon program divides players into tournament groups based on the year they were born. These groups are the Junior, Senior, and Masters Divisions. Whenever possible, players are paired with other players in the same age division. Prizes are typically awarded to the best players in each age division.
2025-2026 Age Divisions:
- Junior Division: Born in 2014 or later.
- Senior Division: Born between 2010 and 2013.
- Masters Division: Born in 2009 or earlier.
At Turin Pokémon Special Championships 2026 each competitor that is less than 18 years old needs an adult (18+ years) to act as a guardian and be with them at all times. It doesn’t matter which division the competitor is in, an adult guardian needs to be physically available at all times. This may be different from other events you have participated in. Please read carefully the following examples. Exceptions to this policy will not be made.
Example 1: One competitor is 8 years old (Junior) and another competitor that is 20 years old (Masters) wants to act as a guardian. This is not allowed, since the two competitors are in different divisions, static seating requests cannot ensure they are seating close to each other, they will be in different areas of the hall.
Example 2: One competitor is 17 years old (Masters) and another competitor that is 20 years old (Masters) wants to act as guardian. This is allowed, but they will need to request static seating to be nearby (through https://www.fanfinity.gg/support/ or on site at the Info Point). Note that if one of them drops, the other cannot be a competitor in a different event, because the Masters competitor wouldn’t have a guardian and requires one.
Example 3: One competitor is 8 years old (Junior) and the guardian is 17 years old (Masters). This is not allowed, because the guardian is not an adult. Neither of them will be allowed in the venue if there is no other adult guardian in their group.
Example 4: One competitor is 8 years old (Junior), the guardian is 40 years old, and there are two other spectating children. This is allowed, because the spectators can always stay with the adult, and an adult acts as a guardian for the 8-years-old competitor.
Example 5: Two competitors are 8 years old (Junior), and there is a single guardian for both, 40 years old. This is allowed, because the competitors can request static seating, and be seated close to each other. The adult can be phisically available for both of them at the same time.
Example 6: Two competitors have 8 years (Junior) and 17 years (Masters). Their father, 40 years old, acts as a guardian for the Junior competitor. This is not allowed as described, because the Masters competitor doesn’t have a guardian and requires one. Since the two competitors are in different divisions, static seating requests cannot ensure they are seating close to each other, they will be in different areas of the hall.
There are no registration fees. You can register for free!
Spectator tickets become available together with the player tickets.
There is a limited number available, based upon the capacity of the hall.
