Join us once more at the NEC in Birmingham for the Pokémon Regional Championships in England this coming January. 

Immerse yourself in a vibrant experience at the venue, featuring everything from captivating Side Events and the lively Fan Zone to unique offerings from our vendors. Engage in a global competition with fellow Trainers in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon Video Game, and Pokémon GO.

Travel Requirements:
Attendees traveling to the UK may be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). Please check UK entry requirements and apply in advance, if applicable, to ensure smooth travel to the event.

Attention Trainers, this event will feature a Friday early check-in at the venue from 16:00 – 19:00!

Trainers and spectators can check in for the Main Event during this time, explore vendor booths, and even pick up their Premium Goodie Bag early.

Shiny Trainers

Pokémon Regional Championships are Premier events in which you can battle in Pokémon TCG, Video Game, or Pokémon GO Regional Championships. They take place all over the world. No qualifications or residency restrictions are needed to enter these events. Pokémon TCG players need to bring their own legal 60-card deck for the Standard format. Pokémon GO players must have a legal Pokémon team on their Pokémon GO account.

In order to participate, players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account and stand in good standing with the Play! Pokémon program.

Pokémon TCG players need to bring their own legal 60-card deck for the Standard format. Pokémon Video Game players must bring their own game system, their own Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game, and a legal Pokémon team. Pokémon GO players must have a legal Pokémon team on their Pokémon GO account.

In order to participate, players must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account and be in good standing with the Play! Pokémon program.

In order to take part in the Regional Championship, you first need to register for the event. Most Regional Championships require online registration, and events may sell out. You can find more information on the official page.

The Play! Pokémon program divides players into tournament groups based on the year they were born. These groups are the Junior, Senior, and Masters Divisions. Whenever possible, players are paired with other players in the same age division. Prizes are typically awarded to the best players in each age division.

2025-2026 Age Divisions:

  • Junior Division: Born in 2014 or later.
  • Senior Division: Born between 2010 and 2013.
  • Masters Division: Born in 2009 or earlier.

Tournament Entry cost depends on the game and age division.

Spectator tickets cost £15.

All tickets are handled on a first-come-first-served basis and are limited.

Spectator tickets become available together with the player tickets.
There is a limited number available, based upon the capacity of the hall.

If you want to enter the hall, or play Side Events, you do require a spectator ticket. Spectator tickets can only be obtained online, you can not register on-site.

You are allowed to trade cards with your friends and other players.
Buying and selling, however, is only allowed with the official vendors that are present at the event. If you are caught buying and selling you will be removed from the tournament hall.

The number of rounds played on Saturday depend on the respective competition:

  • TCG: 9
  • VGC: 10

The remaining rounds will be played on Sunday!

To ensure the safety of all attendees, the following items will not be permitted into the event:

  • Items that could be considered “weapons” and would not pass airline security (including all firearms, sharp objects, mock or prop weapons, and sprays)
  • Electronic smoking devices
  • Bags larger than 9″ x 14″ x 22″ (23 cm x 36 cm x 56 cm). If an airline would not classify it as a carry-on, it is too big.
  • Alcoholic beverages or any illegal substance
  • Apparel, objects, or signs with explicit wording or pictures
  • Animals (other than service animals)

Animals (other than service animals) are not allowed in the hall.

You can bring in food and drink, but no alcohol.

Anyone who requires a guardian can register them for free when purchasing their ticket. These guardians will be issued a spectator ticket. If you can’t register a guardian with your ticket purchase, please contact our Customer support with your information and ticket number.
